Your Foundation for a Lifetime of Healthy Smiles
A professional dental cleaning removes plaque and tartar buildup that regular brushing and flossing cannot address — particularly in hard-to-reach areas between teeth and below the gumline. Our hygienists use both hand instruments and ultrasonic scalers to clean every surface of every tooth, then polish your teeth to a smooth, clean finish.
Your comprehensive exam includes a visual inspection of all teeth and oral tissues, digital X-rays as needed, an oral cancer screening, and a thorough evaluation of your gum health. Dr. Woodford or Dr. Allin will review all findings with you, answer your questions, and discuss any recommended treatment.
We recommend cleanings every six months for most patients. Patients with a history of gum disease or higher cavity risk may benefit from more frequent visits. We serve patients throughout Chagrin Falls, Bainbridge, Auburn, Solon, Twinsburg, Aurora, and Moreland Hills.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often do I need a dental cleaning?
Most patients benefit from cleanings every six months. Patients with gum disease or higher cavity risk may need cleanings every three to four months. We will recommend the right interval for your individual needs.
Does a dental cleaning hurt?
For most patients, a professional cleaning is comfortable. If you have sensitive teeth or gum disease, there may be some sensitivity during cleaning. We can apply a topical numbing gel to make the experience more comfortable.
What is the difference between a cleaning and a deep cleaning?
A regular cleaning (prophylaxis) removes plaque and tartar from above and just below the gumline. A deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) removes buildup from deeper below the gumline and smooths root surfaces — it is used to treat gum disease.
