At what age should my child get sealants?
We recommend sealants as soon as the first permanent molars come in — typically around age 6 — and again when the second permanent molars come in around age 12. The sooner sealants are applied, the better the protection.
How long do sealants last?
Sealants typically last several years before they need to be reapplied. We check the condition of existing sealants at every preventive visit and reapply them as needed.
Can adults get sealants?
